Waiting for a Re-Roof? Why is it taking so long?

The wait can be the most frustrating part of the process, because once it's underway, your new roof can be completed within days - but why have you been waiting for months to get started?

Bad Weather

There is no one who can control what the weather decides to do. Sometimes it can rain or be too windy to do roofing work for days or weeks on end. This pushes out the program and although we can sometimes complete new work during this type of weather - it is never a good idea to start re-roofing when the weather is threatening.

Staff Numbers

Unfortunately Covid has added a whole new element of volatility to the continuity of service many businesses can provide. Also flu's and virus's seem to be getting worse each year! We have no control at all over when our staff get sick, but we can control whether they are at work or not - we choose not, every time.

Programming Clashes

To keep business going, diversity is a must, this means most roofers will offer services that include new roofs, re-roofing, commercial and gutter work. New builds will almost always take priority over re-roofing, because the roof is a pivotal part of a new build - the job cannot go on until the roof is on. Whereas re-roofing means someone already has a roof! Hopefully it's not leaking so bad that you cannot wait a little longer to get it done.
